Inside of Me

Amy wearily held her arms around herself as she and Adam walked the meager distance back the hotel.

"So..." the blond man said, turning to study her. "...how are things going between you and the Vanilla Ice wannabe?"

The redhead rolled her eyes at her ex-boyfriend's mention of John, and she shook her head.

"Not good," she admitted reluctantly. "In fact, I sort of wanted to talk to you about that, but... Well, I didn't because number one, *you* wanted to talk to *me* so badly about something, and two, I thought it might be awkward..."

"Awkward?" Adam asked, shoving some of his long hair away from his face.

"Yeah... you know," she said, "you being my ex-boyfriend and all..."

"Oh." The tall, inebriated blond Canadian eyed her, then looked quickly away. As much as he hated to acknowledge it, it *did* bother him that Amy was with someone else. Just the thought of it made his skin crawl. Okay, so he was jealous, and the only reason he didn't like John Cena was because he happened to be Amy's new boyfriend. He and the redhead may have broken up a few months back, but Adam still couldn't help but think of her as *his* territory. They'd been together a long time, he'd kissed her thousands of times, had sex with her about equally that, so how *could* he help feeling that way? Of course, he'd sooner be struck dead than *admit* any of this to her - especially since *she'd* been the one to end their relationship. He supposed it was a silly macho thing, but damn it, he couldn't help it...

"Anyway," the redhead said with annoyance clear on her face, "I don't even want to talk about *him*... I regret ever-" She bit her tongue, stopping the rest of her words from escaping her. God, she really wasn't feeling well. Thank goodness they were now just entering the hotel.

Adam held the door open for the diva, stepping aside as he allowed her to enter first. He allowed his eyes the luxury of scanning her lovely backside as she walked into the hotel lobby.

"C'mon," he said as he caught up and was at her side again, "lemme get you up to your room..."

They made their way there in relative silence, Amy doing her best to prevent a sneeze she felt coming. This was just what she needed - a cold - to top off her week, which hadn't been great. If anything, spending time with Adam tonight had been its highlight.

"Do you want to come in for awhile?" she asked, reaching for her keycard as they reached the floor on which she was staying.

"Sure - I got nothing else to do..."

She managed a smile for him as they reached her room.

"Sorry in advance - my room is a bit of a mess..." Earlier in the day, she'd gone to the desk clerk and requested a new room, since she'd stormed out of the one she and John had been sharing. She also didn't want to bother Dawn Marie too much, seeing as the brunette might very well have had company in the form of Jay that night.

"Doesn't bother me..." the blond man said as he stepped over the threshold, making a beeline for the bed. He sat on its edge as Amy closed and locked the door before glancing into the hallway one last time. She was thankful for once that John had gone out. If he saw Adam going into her room with her... Well, at the very least, he would flip out.

The redhead went to the bed to sit beside the blond man, who had turned the TV on. Now, he was flipping through the cable channels, but he looked up at her with something shining in his emerald eyes.

Setting the remote down on the nightstand, Adam glanced around the room. Taking note of the various items of Amy's scattered all over, he chuckled softly.

"This brings back memories..." He surveyed the room some more, noticing something profound. "Have we stayed in this room before?"

The ill diva bit her lip. When she'd requested another room, she'd been reluctant when the clerk had told her the number - because she and Adam *had* indeed stayed in this very room a few times while they'd still been together. Although the memories of them as a couple hadn't been painful in itself, the breakup *had* been - and extremely so.

"Yes..." she admitted slowly. "As a matter of fact, we have..."

The blond man smiled.

"No wonder I thought it looked so familiar." He glanced around again before turning back to meet her eyes, a glint in his own. "Oh, yeah... We *did* stay in here - a *few* times." A lascivious grin played at his lips. "We had a lot of good times in this room..."

Amy smiled, but she was too sick to do anything more. However, a moment later, she felt his thigh brushing against her own. Instead of moving over, she stayed put. It wasn't as though the feeling were unpleasant. Little did she suspect it was not going to stop there.

"Amy..."

The redhead looked up, Adam's handsome face suddenly so near. He was so very close to her, and...

All of a sudden, he was reaching for her, trying to kiss her. Shocked, Amy tried to pull away - not because she *wanted* to - on the contrary, he was still in her heart, she loved him and *wanted* to kiss him, but she was still with John.

Before she could protest, the Canadian was speaking softly to her, his lips hovering just beyond hers.

"It's *me*... It's okay, it's *me*... Come here..." This time, his lips found hers, and he was kissing her, his tongue finding its way into her mouth. Amy didn't kiss him back regardless of her desire to do so, but at the same time, she didn't pull back, either. She had neither the heart nor the strength to do so...

Finally, after a long moment that felt to her like an eternity, the redhead moved away, her breathing heavy. She was in shock, the situation feeling so surreal. Strangely, she even felt as though she might start crying.

"Oh, God..." she whimpered. "What am I getting myself into?"

"Come here..." Adam reached for her again, his green eyes slightly glassy with a mixture of passion and drunkenness.

"No... Adam, please don't do this to me... I can't do this to John, no matter *how* bad things are..." She grimaced at the pain she was feeling, physically in her throat and sinuses, and the emotional pain the current situation brought as well.

"Amy, from everything you've told me, the guy's a dick..." Then, without another word, Adam kissed her again.
