Adam Weekly - Issue # 81

Hi, and welcome to another issue! There is actually plenty to talk about today as we head into Vengeance tonight and Edge is back where he belongs - right back in the WWE title picture!

Edge has been on a roll over the last few weeks, taking on all comers and getting involved with ECW on their turf. One Night Stand proved to be a great night for the Rated R Superstar as he, Mick Foley and his lady Lita defeated the trio of Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk and Beulah McGillicutty. From there, later that night, in a shocking and most unexpected move, he cost John Cena the WWE Championship by spearing him through a table during the WWE title match. This, of course, led to Rob Van Dam capitalizing with the Five-Star Frogsplash to pick up the win and the championship as well. Some people seemed confused initially afterward, actually wondering if Edge had had a change of heart and was joining up with ECW. That was obviously not the case, and the only point to the action was the fact that Cena had taken the title off of him at the Royal Rumble a mere three weeks after he'd had it. Edge never forgot that, and he paid dividends at a most opportune time.

So, tonight, at Vengeance, the Rated R Superstar has the chance to regain the WWE Championship. Do I see that happening? Absolutely. I fully expect to see him win the title tonight. This past Tuesday, he teamed up with Randy Orton to compete in a tag team match at ECW against RVD and the man Orton has been feuding with, Kurt Angle. The WWE team fell down to defeat, which can only spell a happier night for Edge at Vengeance.

Time for me to give you guys my predictions for tonight's pay-per-view:

Eugene vs Umaga (with Armando Alejandro Estrada): I don't really have much to say about this match because of the lack of interest in it. I am a Eugene fan, but I don't like the Umaga character, and Estrada (especially his voice) gets on my last nerve. Although Eugene is the one who has vengeance (no pun intended) on his mind, I see Umaga winning.

Kane vs Imposter Kane: I'm picking the real Kane to win this one, because it wouldn't do him any good to lose.

Mick Foley vs Ric Flair: Not too sure about this one. This new feud is extremely personal, as Flair's comments really did get hurled at Mick. I am actually on Mick's side in the real life thing behind this, but I find it odd that he's the heel in this dispute. I'm going on a limb here and picking Flair to win.

DX vs The Spirit Squad: I don't have much to say about this one, either. I'm not a huge fan of The Spirit Squad, but I'll say this - I like them a whole helluva lot more than I do Triple H. I am NOT a fan of DX by any means and was never into the original incarnation of it aside from the fact that I was a Shawn Michaels and Chyna fan. And of course, in spite of the outnumbered issue, I still see DX winning.

Shelton Benjamin vs Carlito vs Johnny Nitro (with Melina) (Intercontinental Title Match): Now here's a match I'm going to thoroughly enjoy! I love all involved in this contest, but I have to say that I see Carlito walking out victorious and with the title!

Kurt Angle vs Randy Orton: Although Randy suffered an injury this past week at ECW, and although Kurt has been getting one-up on him for awhile now, I somehow see The Legend Killer winning tonight.

John Cena vs Sabu (Extreme Lumberjack Match): I'll make this short and sweet - I think Cena is going to make quick work of the ECW guys on the outside during this one and somehow pull off a victory against Sabu, although not without some bloodshed (again).

Edge (with Lita) vs Rob Van Dam (WWE Title Match): As I stated above in this very issue, I fully expect to see Edge winning this one, along with the Championship for his second reign. There is no point to RVD holding onto TWO belts, or to him having the WWE title when he's ECW now. It's Edge all the way!

That's it for this week. Enjoy Vengeance if you're seeing it, and be sure to catch RAW tomorrow night!
