Adam Weekly - Issue # 79

Hi, and welcome back finally to a new issue of Adam Weekly. I guess I've been slacking off lately, but I'm beginning to think it's better that this ISN'T a weekly column anymore because the ideas are fresher each time I write.

so, what's been happening with Edge the past few weeks since Backlash? One complaint I have is that the WWE has apparently taken him out of the WWE title picture. Even if this is just temporary, I don't like it. However, now that Triple H is also no longer part of it and Rob Van Dam has stepped in with his Money In the Bank contract, it bothers me a little less. The chances, at least in my opinion, of RVD capturing the championship at ECW's One Night Stand to me look slim. I don't know, I just don't see him getting the title. Anyhow, back to Edge... I found it a surprise some weeks back when Mick Foley aligned himself with Edge and Lita. On one hand, it does make sense because he claims that the hardcore match they had at WrestleMania 22 was THE best he'd ever experienced in all his illustrious career. That being said, he would have no choice but to respect Edge tremendously for that, because let's face it, it wouldn't have happened without him.

Despite Edge being sidetracked from the WWE Championship for now, I have to say I've been enjoying the alliance between him and Lita and Foley. Mick is golden as a heel and the three play off one another beautifully. They've had one another's backs for the last few weeks since the union, and last week on RAW, Mick brought back the retired WWE Hardcore Championship. I was actually surprised when Edge had Lilian Garcia announce them as co-holders of the title! This was definitely most unexpected, but I now wonder if the title will be on the line at One Night Stand in their tag match against Terry Funk and Tommy Dreamer. I don't think it would make much sense, but this is ECW we're talking about!

I find myself on the edge of my seat (no pun intended!) to seeing what happens not only at the pay-per-view, but at RAW tomorrow night. Two and three weeks ago, we didn't get to see much of the Rated R Couple aside from five minutes at most. Last week, it was a good 13 minutes. I'm actually suffering from Edge match withdrawal... He hasn't wrestled since when? Backlash?! I could possibly see him wrestling someone else who was in ECW in a squash match, just to make an example out of that company and send a message to Funk and Dreamer. I also think it would be great if, come the pay-per-view, Beulah MacGillicutty makes an appearance on behalf of her husband and gets into a tussle with Lita! It would only be fitting.

That's it for today's issue. Enjoy RAW tomorrow night, and have a happy Memorial Day!
