Adam Weekly - Issue # 76

Hello, and welcome back finally to another new issue of Adam Weekly. We were again on a short hiatus, but with WrestleMania just around the bend, I thought it was time for a return.

As always, especially before a pay-per-view event, there has been some speculation by certain fans - *coughMarkscough* - that Edge and Lita will be splitting up. Not only is this stemming from the events of RAW from two weeks back (I'm sure all of you reading this saw and remember that Mick Foley delivered the Mandible Claw to Lita as Edge stood ringside looking on in horror), but due to the interview with Edge in the new April 2006 RAW Magazine. In the interview, it is all Edge, fully in character, in full heeldom, and when asked if he would "get rid of Lita if she became an obstacle," he answered, "In a second." Apparently, people seem to be forgetting that the person talking is EDGE - not Adam Copeland - but EDGE, the character. Edge is a heel. Lita is a heel as well. Heels have a certain method behind the madness in how they act and interact with one another and with faces as well. And hey - wouldn't YOU get rid of someone in YOUR life if they were proving to be an OBSTACLE in something you were trying to achieve? Food for thought... Interview aside, it would make no sense whatsoever for Lita to turn on Edge tonight at WrestleMania after all they've been through with Foley - not to mention everyone and everything else before him.

I really have no more to say on this subject, so I will cut it short right here. But as always, I will now give my WrestleMania predictions.

Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle (Playboy Pillow Fight): Mostly everyone who knows me knows that I have usually not liked Torrie all that much over the years... However, there have been times when she has grown on me and I actually liked her. Last time was when she was still on SmackDown and feuding with Melina. Times definitely do change. Over the last month or longer, I have grown to like this diva, and although I despise the whole idea of this type of match, I can't stress how much I want Torrie to win. She has been in the business for a few years now and really tries, and she doesn't deserve to job out to someone like Candice Michelle. Unfortunately, as much as they've been shoving trainwreck Candice down our throats lately, I have to go with Candice winning this one.

Boogeyman vs. Booker T & Sharmell: Hmm... Before this past Friday's SmackDown, I would have said undoubtedly that the Boogeyman would win this match. I think it was a brilliant idea to put Sharmell in the mix, and I've been loving her throughout this storyline (but I'm biased, as I've always been a fan of her). I actually can see Booker T sneaking in a victory for himself and his wife, especially after Sharmell's "abduction" this past week on SmackDown. I'm still a bit unsure, though, but I'm picking Boogeyman (I think he'll probably end up pinning Sharmell).

Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James (Women's Championship Match): I'm a little stuck on this one too, but I think I'm gonna say Mickie will win. Trish, of course, has held the Women's title for an INSANELY long time, and after capturing it when she wasn't supposed to win (this being when Lita legitimately injured her knee at New Year's Revolution last year). It's definitely time for the title to change hands, and Mickie is still pretty fresh blood for the women's division. However, Trish will have revenge to take against her psycho admirer/stalker, so I could technically see Trish retaining. But... I'm still going with Mickie.

Kane & Big Show vs. Chris Masters & Carlito (World Tag Team Championship Match): Kane and Show have had the tag titles for awhile now. Carlito and Masters are a pretty good, albeit goofy team, and despite their occasional misunderstandings and miscommunications, I somehow see them pulling off a victory and winning the titles.

Chris Benoit vs. JBL (United States Championship Match): Lately, JBL has seemed to be more a man of words rather than action - and I don't buy that the excuse would be his injured hand. I can see two scenarios possibly occurring in this match - either JBL will get himself disqualified, or Benoit will make him tap out. Either way, I see The Wolverine retaining the title.

Edge vs. Mick Foley aka Cactus Jack (Hardcore Match): This feud has been going so back and forth for weeks now. Edge has got to have a LOT of vengeance on his mind - Foley has cost him the chance to regain the WWE Championship from John Cena, he gave him his very own move, the Conchairto, and Mick even gave his girl Lita a Mandible Claw! And then, last week on RAW, Foley seemed to be playing with Edge in giving him something he could use in this match, a baseball bat. Is Mick mocking Edge? Unfortunately, I see a lot of blood being shed by my favorite superstar, but on the same token, I also see him winning this match and continuing his tradition of being victorious at WrestleMania.

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry (Casket Match): Please, are you serious??? Taker has already won at 13 WrestleManias and he's never lost once. And this match is his specialty. Mark won't be able to keep up, and Taker will win.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Without a doubt, RVD will win this one.

Mr. McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels (No Holds Barred Match): HBK - and hopefully, Vince will go away for awhile after finally getting the shit Superkicked out of him!

Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio (World Heavyweight Championship Match): Well... Before I found out that Kurt has actually been wrestling with a "broken freakin' neck," I was 100% certain he would retain. Now, I'm not so sure. I would like to see Rey pull off the win and become the new World Champion, but sadly, I really don't see that happening. *sigh* I think I'm going to pick Randy Orton to win this one.

John Cena vs. Triple H (WWE Championship Match): After the events of this past week's RAW, that saw Mr. McMahon and Triple H leaving the champ and Shawn Michaels battered and bloody, I don't see Triple H walking out with the title at all. However, all along, I have felt this way, that he won't win and won get the title. Cena has his number, and Triple H knows it and is scared. He's shaking in his boots! I fully expect a nice FU and a three-count at the end of the night for the leader of the Chain Gang to retain the WWE Championship.

That does it for this issue. Enjoy WrestleMania, and RAW tomorrow night!
