Adam Weekly - Issue # 68

Hello, and welcome to this week's new issue. What an unbelievable week it's been, and I mean that in a lot more ways than one!

So, I'll of course begin with New Year's Revolution. Wow, was I off with my match predictions. None of the people I predicted to win won, with the exception of John Cena in the Elimination Chamber. Well, I did say that I could see Edge getting disqualified in his match against Ric Flair, and that indeed happened, although it wasn't my final pick for that match. I liked that he got DQ'd rescuing Lita as Flair had her in the Figure Four, though. In my eyes, it showed that he does indeed still care for her, despite what haters of the pairing are crying lately.

I think it's safe to say that everyone can agree that the biggest surprise of the night occurred after the Elimination Chamber. Exactly as Edge said on RAW the following night, NO one saw that coming. But it was simply brilliant. Yes, it was damn sneaky, and I felt for Cena in a way (I like Cena, but he isn't Edge). I think the only thing that could have made that moment better was if Eric Bischoff had still been the General Manager of RAW, seeing as he hated Cena so much and would do anything to see him lose the WWE Championship. He would have relished taking the Money in the Bank briefcase with the contract inside from Edge.

So, two Spears later, Edge scored the three-count for the victory and was declared the new WWE Champion. It was an awesome, surreal moment. And just watching, it was quite clear that immediately following the count of three, that was all Adam Copeland and Amy Dumas we were witnessing celebrating and kissing in that ring. It was so sweet and beautiful, with tears of joy being shed and intense emotions displayed. It was the most genuine reaction and emotion since Chris Benoit won the World Championship and he and Eddy Guerrero hugged and cried as they celebrated. It was sheer class.

The couple went back into character in the exclusive footage of them leaving, and Edge gave his first interview as champion. And what was said was most unexpected - he promised a live sex celebration on RAW the following night. And we ended up seeing a lot more than anyone would have thought! I honestly thought there would have been an interruption long before there actually was one. Now, the question is - will John Cena still get his rematch for the WWE title against Edge at the Royal Rumble? Because, earlier in the night, Mr. McMahon had warned him that if he interfered with the live sex celebration, he would lose that shot. Seeing as it was actually Ric Flair who interrupted, though, I don't see Cena getting into trouble. He didn't technically interrupt because he ran out after Edge had taken out Flair.

So, tomorrow night on RAW, Edge is scheduled to have a TLC match (*cringe*) against Ric Flair. I'm baffled that they have chosen this type of match. Flair is not young anymore, and Edge of course has a surgically repaired neck and has said in the past that he would never compete in this type of match again. However, due to those factors, I don't see either man taking too many crazy bumps tomorrow night. I do, however see John Cena coming out at some point to go after Edge - maybe not during the match, but afterward. But after the FU Cena delivered to Lita last week, I can also see Edge attacking him backstage or in the ring if Cena has a match. Should be interesting to see what happens!

That will do it for this week's issue. Check back next week for another, and enjoy RAW tomorrow night!
