Adam Weekly - Issue # 57

Hello, and welcome to a new issue of the column. I apologize for not having anything for you all last week, but my computer was slightly sick. Heh... Anyhow, I'm back this week to discuss what happened over the last two weeks with Edge.

I guess Unforgiven and the cage match is as good a place to start as any. I have to say that I was disappointed. I honestly and fully expected Edge to walk out of that match victorious, despite my very initial thoughts when it was first announced. It was a good match, but I really hated seeing Edge all bloody, and Lita getting a Twist of Fate at the hands of Matt Hardy. That, however, was to be expected after everything that's happened in the last two months. I really enjoyed how Edge was steaming mad and approached Eric Bischoff about it the following night on RAW, though. He looked and sounded very hungry for revenge after Hardy put his hands on his woman.

And what else happened that night on RAW? Bischoff announced the Loser Leaves RAW Ladder Match for this coming Monday's Homecoming, when RAW returns to the USA Network. Okay, I guess we all eventually might have seen a match where one of them would end up leaving - well, maybe not. The thing that has me outraged is that the WWE would make Edge put his Money in the Bank briefcase, with the precious contract inside, as the object that would be hanging over the ring. Don't get me wrong - I don't believe for one second that Hardy will be winning, or even has the slightest chance of winning, but the mere idea of the contract and title shot that Edge has worked so hard for being put on the line (even if only in words) against someone like Hardy is absolutely preposterous. It's a joke, but not a funny one.

That, of course, brings me to tomorrow's RAW. It should be a nailbiter, and yes, even for me, and I'm totally confident and optimistic that Edge will win. Last week's RAW only served to confirm my belief that Mr. Money in the Bank will continue being Mr. Money in the Bank. As soon as Edge climbed that ladder in the center of the ring while he and Lita gave their promo, it was fairly obvious that Hardy would come out and start something. That fall Edge took looked kind of harsh, too. Ouch! Well, fear not, kids, because he WILL get the last laugh at Homecoming tomorrow night. I think it's a pretty obvious indication as well that Matt will be headed to SmackDown that Teddy Long and some SmackDown superstars will be there as well. Teddy will probably offer him a job once he loses this match and has to leave RAW.

Well, that's it for this week. Be sure to tune in an hour early tomorrow, because RAW is going to be three hours long! Come back next week for another new issue and more Edge stuff.
