Adam Weekly - Issue # 55

Hello, and welcome to this week's new issue. Sorry about last week - I wasn't home and thought I'd have a new issue from Sam to add by Monday at the latest, but I didn't hear anything about the column from her. So, you've got me this week and I'll discuss the last two weeks of events.

Obviously, I have to start with the Street Fight from two weeks ago on RAW. I thought it was a pretty crazy match, and it disturbed me that there was a ladder involved (anyone who knows me knows how I feel about Edge dealing with ladders ever since his neck injury). Regardless of that, however, the ending of the match was what really perturbed me, and I know it did the same for others as well. Personally, I thought the reason people buzzed so much about the match in the first place, saying how "awesome" or "great" they thought it was was simply for the unbelievable ending. By now, everyone knows what happened - Edge and Matt Hardy were battling back and forth on the entry ramp up to the stage, and then Hardy delivered a Side Effect to Edge off the side of the stage. I'm adult enough to admit that when this first took place, I was genuinely worried that Adam might have gotten injured. It was just too odd seeing him crying as the EMTs were pulling him and Matt out of the 'wreckage.' To be honest, I do believe he was genuinely fearful, even if he knew he didn't actually knock something out of whack with that fall.

Let me now address all the haters (this is getting to be a recurring theme, isn't it?). I find it hilarious and ridiculous that after this match, these people kept barking about how "Amy was concerned only for Matt" and etc., etc. Well, answer me this - whose side was she by the ENTIRE time? Whose forehead did she stroke? Who was she comforting verbally? To all these people, I say this - give me a break, and stop deluding yourselves and OPEN YOUR EYES. It's gotten to the point where even JR has made comments against this stupidity in his Ross Report. People need to just get over it.

This past week on RAW, I wasn't surprised to see Hardy in a match again. It also didn't surprise me one bit to see Edge and Lita again come out to the announce table during that match. Their color commentary was absolutely priceless, and peppered with sexual innuendos and countless insults hurled at Hardy. Dare I say they should do commentary more often!

We also found out that at Unforgiven, Edge and Hardy will face off in a steel cage match. Personally, I'm hoping this will spell the end of this whole thing. Just as with the feud with Kane, I'm bored with Matt Hardy and I'm bored with Edge and Lita having to deal with him. Regardless of what people have said about the Street Fight, I don't think Hardy has any charisma, and I don't think he's anything special in the ring. His brother Jeff was the shining star between the two of them, in my opinion, but he's lacking. At this point, I just want to see Edge move on to challenge John Cena for the WWE title. It's time.

I see the match at Unforgiven as a bloody, very violent fight, and I see Edge as the victor. I don't believe that in order for this 'storyline' to end that Hardy has to win. Since it seems beyond obvious that the WWE are burying him, yet still pushing Edge as the big star that he is, it could end with Edge winning the cage match. People seem to forget that there are times when the "heel" DOES get the last laugh.

Well, that's it for this week's issue. Be sure to catch RAW tomorrow night, because I imagine Edge will team with Snitsky to face Hardy and the Big Show. And return here next week for a new issue!
