Adam Weekly - Issue # 51

Hello, and welcome to this week's issue. Again, you guys have me, as Sam went away for vacation yesterday and will be back shortly. Hope you don't mind.

Well, this past week's RAW saw a huge lack of Edge. And quite frankly, it sucked. It didn't make a whole lot of sense for him to be off the show after the unbelievable momentum he's had lately, and over the past several months. Speculation about Lita not being on proved correct, but I think I speak for all of us when I say I was shocked that Edge didn't appear! I wonder if this was just to sell Lita's "injury" after being tombstoned by Kane (as Edge was announced to be taking care of her at home), or if this was done with the purpose of allowing Matt Hardy to come out to give his promo.

On that note, I would like to address Hardy's promo. It was pretty sick, and I'm sorry for all of you reading this who believe this is mostly or completely a "work," but it was obviously more shoot than anything else. Okay, maybe he doesn't seriously wish for Adam to die in a car crash (although I honestly don't know), but speaking such words is just disgusting and disturbing - and I don't care if that part DID come from a script. Since when in the WWE has any wrestler openly wished death on another? Some people might point at The Undertaker as an example in all those times he's said "rest in peace," but there is no way that can be comparable to what came out of Hardy's mouth. The fans, even those who popped for him when Vince McMahon announced him and he made his appearance, grew dead silent at that part of his speech, and who could blame them? It is just plain wrong to go around wishing death on another person, especially on someone who was once a friend.

So, that last line in the above paragraph leads me to this week's Byte This! Edge was a part of the show for a very, very brief time. Todd Grisham asked him what he thought about Matt Hardy being rehired back to the WWE and how he felt about the fighting words he offered on RAW. Edge's response was short and directly to the point. He said that for the guy to wish a person who was once his buddy died in a car accident just showed his true colors, and it showed why Amy left him in the first place. After that, he hung up. It was quite obvious he had nothing more to say and did not wish to be a part of the show.

Also after this past week's RAW, we all found out something we all pretty much knew was going to happen. Edge will be facing Hardy one-on-one at SummerSlam. I expect it will be brutal. I also believe that we will see Edge on RAW tomorrow night, and I am about 70 percent in the belief that Lita will be there with him, but the other 30 says she'll be gone until SummerSlam. And while I don't necessarily see Edge in a match tomorrow night, I definitely see him going wild and shooting on Hardy. We didn't hear much from him during Byte This!, which leads me to think that he was saving most of it for RAW. Or perhaps he will actually have a nondescript match - against, say, Val Venis. After he destroys his opponent, I would expect a shoot on his worst, most hated enemy, and then, maybe even a little roughing up on his beaten opponent. If this scenario does happen, I only hope Hardy does NOT show up to play "hero." Oh, and speaking of heroes, how heelish and not at all like a face was Hardy's shoot on Adam? It annoys me that he's the one being portrayed as the good guy in all of this - and I don't CARE what the facts are in terms of Adam and Amy, and how they got together.

That's going to do it for this week's issue. Tune in tomorrow night on RAW, and let's hope for a really B-R-Utal shoot promo from Edge!
