Adam Weekly - Issue # 46

Hi, and welcome to this week's issue! What a wild week Edge and Lita had on RAW this past Monday, huh? Most of you know I have always been a big fan of both of them separately, but together, they are just even more amazing. And they just seem to get more and more entertaining each and every week! Last week's RAW was certainly no exception, and it's to the point where I'm literally on the edge of my seat while watching them.

The wedding this week was one of the most entertaining segments I have ever seen. Yes, maybe I'm a bit biased because Edge and Lita are my two favorite superstars. However, the chemistry between them is undeniably something special, and natural. I can't ever recall Lita being better at promos than she's been since hooking up with Edge. The interaction between the two was incredibly sweet, and filled with pinches of comedy as well. They manage to keep their heads up, keep strong and keep their sense of humor all while there are still rude fans in the audience chanting "We want Matt!" and "Slut."

I'm not going to lie here - when Edge first came out last Monday, I laughed my ass off at his outfit. Well, scratch that - I laughed at *parts* of his outfit. The hat and cane really cracked me up. The crossbones and skull on the hat and matching tie made me laugh as well. Once he put down the cane and removed the hat, all was well, though. He looked quite spiffy, and hot as always. Lita's dress made my jaw drop, and made me say "Holy shit!" =) But all in all, the wedding segment was the best I can recall in recent years. The only one that even touches close to this particular one was that of Stephanie McMahon and Test on November 29, 1999, when Triple H came out to reveal that Stephanie had in fact married *him*.

Like most everyone else, my heart leapt straight up into my throat when Matt Hardy's music started playing. While I've known all along that this was most definitely NOT a work, it shocked me nonetheless. As the music blared and he didn't show, I kept saying to myself, "He isn't there... He isn't there." And lo and behold, Lita started laughing, and then so did Edge, and it was revealed to all be just a big joke. In one sense, it bothered me, because there is really no need to mention Hardy at all (which is what I thought about the events from One Night Stand). Why mention him or dredge up such memories when he's gone from the WWE and has nothing to do with this storyline? I mean, yes, he had been originally part of the Lita/Kane storyline, but this goes back almost a year now. In one sense, it's pretty strange on the WWE's part to do this, because usually when a person is gone from the company, that's it - they're not mentioned. Sort of like out of sight, out of mind.

Then, on the other hand, this was a stroke of genius. Matt Hardy has been doing nothing but taking potshots at both Adam and Amy, complete with lie after lie, claiming that Adam is "reconciling with his wife" and that "he and Amy are friends and working things out." Since neither Adam nor Amy are allowed to give interviews and speak out against these false statements (not to mention Matt using a photo of Amy as target practice and then running it over with his car), what better way to say a big "Fuck you" to Hardy than to utilize his music and TitanTron movie and laugh their asses off about it? The only way they can fight back is through the storyline, and I think it's a great idea. They can tell Matt Hardy and his followers that they don't give a damn what they say or think of them and still keep their jobs at the same time.

Okay, then... Since Kane obviously interrupted the ceremony right before the priest pronounced Edge and Lita husband and wife, the whole thing is that they're not married. People have pointed out that they never even said "I do," either, however, it seemed the priest wasn't even bothering with that. As I stated in last week's issue of this column, I'm guessing that they will end up tying the knot in Las Vegas after Vengeance - or perhaps before. At the Vengeance press conference this past Tuesday, they joked that they were going to ask Triple H about a good place to get married there. =)

That's it for this week's issue, and now I will give you my Vengeance predictions. Let's see how right I am - last year, I did pretty excellent in my predicts for this particular pay-per-view.

Victoria Vs Christy: While Victoria is the skilled veteran and one of the toughest divas in WWE history, and will no doubt toss Christy around the ring like a little ragdoll, I somehow see her having to job to the Diva Search winner/Playboy Playmate. And BOO to that.

Carlito Vs Shelton Benjamin (Intercontinental Title Match): Was I the only one who wasn't shocked at all when Carlito won the title on RAW last week? Probably not, but it wouldn't surprise me if Shelton wins the belt back. Carlito is no match for him in the ring, lacks all of Shelton's technical ability. However, at the same time, I can see Carlito retaining the title in the same fashion that he won it. So, reluctantly, I'm picking him.

Kurt Angle Vs Shawn Michaels: HBK is on a mission. The last time these two faced, at WrestleMania 21, Angle walked out the victor. For months now, this has been seething inside of Shawn, and he's going to be on a vengeance (no pun intended) to even the score with Kurt. I'm picking Michaels in this one.

John Cena Vs Christian Vs Chris Jericho (Triple-Threat WWE Title Match): From the very start, when Cena was drafted to RAW, I saw this happening. I knew it was only a matter of time that Jericho was going to turn heel after months of it festering, and I wasn't surprised in the least when he attacked the WWE champ during their tag match a couple of weeks back. At this point, oddly enough, Christian seems to be the odd man out, although the whole thing started between him and Cena. On one hand, due to this, Christian might have an advantage going into this match. However, Jericho has tasted major gold before, and as he stated on RAW last week, it's been three years since he's even had a one-on-one shot at a major title. I'm going with Jericho to win this match, the gold, and I see him being drafted to SmackDown within the next two weeks.

Kane Vs Edge (with Lita): Well, let's see... For over a month now, Edge and Lita have been rubbing their romance in Kane's face, flaunting their love at any chance they've gotten. Gotta love how most of the fans have forgotten what a monster Kane was, and everything he subjected Lita to. Anyhow, back on topic - after what the Big Red Monster did to ruin the wedding last Monday, Edge is definitely going to be focused on getting revenge. And I believe Lita will be right there at ringside, and what bride would be happy to have her wedding ruined? Without question, I'm picking Edge to win this one. And then, just as he and Lita have been promising, they'll celebrate all night afterward. =)

Batista Vs Triple H (Hell in a Cell World Title Match): I love Batista, hate Triple H, and frankly, this feud has gotten on my last nerve, so I'm not going to talk too much about it. Last week on RAW, Triple H pinned the champion in their turned-into tag team match after a Pedigree. Therefore, Batista is the one who's going to have the last laugh. He's going to win tonight, and retain his title. And then, someone should remind Triple H that this wasn't the FIRST Hell in a Cell he's lost (anyone else remember Armageddon 2000? Kurt Angle winning?)
