Adam Weekly - Issue # 45

Hello, and welcome to this week's issue. Sorry for the lack of this column last week, but Sam wasn't feeling too well thanks to a bad sunburn. She'll be back soon, I promise. =)

Wow, so it looks like there's a lot to be covered this week. Two weeks back on RAW, we discovered that Edge would be facing Kane at Vengeance. Perhaps even more interesting than that obvious match, however, Lita also let us know that she and Edge were thinking of checking into an all night wedding chapel (since that pay-per-view is taking place in Las Vegas) and getting married. At the time of this announcement, it seemed as though the match was having this sort of "stipulation" in that the marriage would take place when/if Edge defeated Kane. Of course, things have changed within the week.

Last week, Lita came out when Kane was in the ring, and after shocking the hell out of everyone by thanking Gene Snitsky for sparing her the agony of having a "demon" baby and kissing Snitsky afterward, she called out her fiance, Edge. One very interesting matter to take note of (which I myself didn't even quite catch until I watched the segment a second, and then third time): Lita made mention that Kane had agreed to an annulment. So much for filing for divorce. While I don't know if it's possible to get an annulment after 10 months of marriage (I doubt it), it's an interesting twist. If anything, it now means that at least Edge isn't in love with and in a relationship with a "married" woman. And thanks to this annulment, Lita let Kane and the world know that the next week on RAW, they would be getting married instead of waiting until Vengeance. That's fine by me, and it only makes things even more interesting!

So, what's in store for tomorrow night and the wedding of Lita and Edge? There are several speculations, one of which involves Trish Stratus. Trish has been off of TV ever since after Backlash, nursing a herniated disc in her back. Originally, she was slated to be on a break for four to six weeks, but it's been a longer time than that by now. It's only natural that people would think she would be making her return tomorrow night, seeing as her worst enemy, Lita, is having a huge event going on in her life. But don't be so quick to assume that Trish will be coming back as a face - supposedly, she will be teaming up with the newly-returned-heel in Victoria to take on faces Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler at a houseshow on July 15th. Also, I think that fans assume she will return as a face now that Lita is a heel (and especially now that Victoria is also a heel again). I'm not going to lie - I was one of them, from the moment Lita turned heel to be with Edge. If Trish has anything at all to do with this wedding, I have a feeling it will be something most unexpected - such as turning up as maid of honor, but not in the way she did at Lita's wedding to Kane.

Something else people have been speculating is that The Undertaker will appear on RAW tomorrow night and help Kane to destroy the wedding. I honestly don't see that happening, especially now that Randy Orton has been revealed as the second superstar drafted to SmackDown. It appears as though the two will be rekindling their feud and picking up from where they left off at WrestleMania 21. So, that just leaves us with the obvious - Kane completely losing it and finally returning to being The Big Red Monster. Edge has defintely been pushing him to return to his former self on RAW and at houseshows as well. It's only natural that the monster will once again emerge. Whether or not this happens tomorrow night on RAW, however, remains to be seen. Possibly, it could happen and the wedding won't finish, and if that is indeed the case, I can see Edge and Lita ending up going to an all night chapel in Vegas after Vengeance and tying the knot there after all. ;-)

Finally, I want to talk about ECW One Night Stand and Paul Heyman's little "shoot" on Edge. This has obviously been a topic of great controversy, and I will admit to feeling completely outraged last Sunday night, while watching the pay-per-view. I was positive it wasn't set up and that Heyman had just spoken his mind. It seemed strange for Matt Hardy's name to be mentioned after all these months of no mention of him on WWE TV (with the exception, of course, of the few people in the audiences who incessantly chant for him). However, last Monday, I was thinking about it, and the more I did, the more it made sense that it was all planned out. For one thing, Edge's reaction was pretty funny. Had Adam not known in advance about this, I doubt he would have looked the way he did, especially when he smiled at the end of it. Also, take note of the fact that Heyman had said he had *two* words for him, yet he added "freakin'" in there as well - which led to Edge doing the V1 symbol and saying, "That's three words!" MFers can deny it all they want, but that was totally a dig against Matt Hardy, not Adam Copeland! I think they did this very cleverly, although many might disagree. Also, of course, it did get announced as being set up.

That's it for this week's issue. Be sure to watch RAW tomorrow night, because the wedding should be awesome! Whether or not it gets trashed or crashed, you know it'll be hella entertaining. =)
