Adam Weekly

Adam Weekly - Issue # 42

Hello, and welcome finally to an all new issue! Due to the very interesting events in Edge's life, I'd recently decided to bring the column back. Sit back and read. Also, my friend Sam will be helping me out with this column as of next week. She will be writing every other issue.

By now, everyone knows the real life situation involving Adam Copeland, Amy Dumas, and Matt Hardy all too well. I'm not going to get into all of that stuff, but here's some food for thought: Matt was the one who made all of it public, and don't believe everything you read on the wrestling news sites, because a lot of what they've reported is false. For example, Amy being uncomfortable being in the storyline with Adam; I've been told she, as well as Adam, have both been psyched about this storyline. Another thing for you all to chew on: Reports stating that Amy Dumas is not dating Matt Hardy *or* Adam at this point. Again, this is half-false. True, she isn't with Matt anymore, but she and Adam have stayed together. In fact, they are very happy and very much in love.

Onto the events from last week's RAW... It seemed that some people might have been thrown for a loop with the onscreen pairing of Edge and Lita actually happening at this point in time. In some ways, it's surprising it's happening now, but in other ways, it's not shocking at all. I'll admit, I *did* know Lita was turning heel this past Monday. Personally, I think it's awesome. I've been waiting for this pairing to happen onscreen for years now, and frankly, even if it took the real life situation for it to happen, I'm still all for it. Besides, Lita has been long overdue for a heel turn, and what better way for her to get over that way than being put with Edge, who is a terrific heel, not to mention, getting very real heat from a portion of the crowd (*cough*MFerSheep*cough*).

Last Monday's RAW opens a whole new chapter for Edge's character. He has never been paired up with a diva before, but this storyline is going to be exciting. I also don't think Lita is going to be a hindrance to Edge's chase for the World Heavyweight Championship. If anything, she will be an ace up his sleeve in that she can and will help him out from outside of the ring. Edge gets his first shot against Batista tomorrow night on RAW, and you can bet that now that Lita is a heel with him, she'll try to lend him a hand (or more!). At the same time, of course, I see Kane interjecting himself somewhere in the middle of all of this. After his "wife's" betrayal last week, you can be assured the Big Red Monster is going to want answers, to say the least. More likely, however, he'll be gunning for Edge and Lita, and I can see him on a quest to not only destroy Edge, but chokeslamming Lita as well. I also see an Edge/Lita interview, since they both obviously have some explaining to do.

Most, if not all of you reading this, probably also know about the exclusive backstage footage between Edge and Lita from the Backlash DVD. This will be released on May 31st, and I am going to grab it the moment it hits the stores. I suspect that, whatever this footage is, it will completely explain how Edge and Lita got together.

On that note, I have to also say this - how HOT was that kiss on RAW last week?! I have never seen a more passionate kiss/moment in the WWE than between Edge and Lita! They are going to be the Bonnie and Clyde of the WWE, and expect a nice long heel pairing between them!

Now, although I'm not going to be seeing it, here are my Judgment Day predictions:

Orlando Jordan vs Heidenreich (U.S. Title Match): Orlando has had the U.S. title for awhile now, but Heidenreich has really been getting over lately as a face. Although I have a feeling the Basham Brothers might be at ringside for the Chief of Staff, I somehow see Heidenreich winning.

Hardcore Holly & Charlie Haas vs MNM (Tag Team Title Match): Although Holly and Charlie have a lot more experience under their belts (no pun intended), they haven't really gotten over as a team (IMO, Charlie deserves someone WAY better than Hardcore Holly). MNM, although still newbies, have something going in their favor, and that's their manager, Melina. I can see her distracting Holly and Haas and Mercury and Nitro getting the win and retaining the titles.

Big Show vs Carlito Caribbean Cool: This one's not a difficult match to predict at all. I just cannot see Carlito getting any advantage over Show, period. Big Show is going to toss him around the ring like a ragdoll and get the victory.

Rey Mysterio vs Eddy Guerrero: Unlike the last match, this one is a major toughie for me. Both men are exceptional in the ring and very evenly matched. Eddy has really grown a meanstreak, which could give him an edge in this contest, but Rey Rey has the heart and determination, not to mention a score to settle with his former friend and "brother." At the same time, I can really see Eddy winning this one. I'm going with Latino Heat.

Booker T vs Kurt Angle: Okay, what is UP with Kurt lately?? This storyline has me disturbed and fascinated at the same time. It's definitely a new side to the Olympian, but I only wonder if what he said after his "apology" on SmackDown this week was true. A couple of weeks back, watching SmackDown, I did think to myself that it would be something if Sharmell was really in cahoots with Kurt and ended up ditching her husband Booker for him. I think that could possibly happen tonight, with her either being at ringside or running down from the back to interfere. I'm picking Kurt to win.

John Cena vs JBL (I Quit Match for WWE Championship): JBL has positively been on a rampage ever since losing the WWE title to Cena at WrestleMania 21, but I don't think that's going to be his saving grace. This past week on SmackDown was disturbing in that he went after Scotty 2 Hottie, of all people, and seemed to be envisioning the WWE champ. Cena is going to be a hell of a lot tougher for him to overpower and bully than a cruiserweight. Cena also made an example of the Bashams in the handicap match this past Thursday, and right in front of JBL, and he was sending his nemesis an important message. I see John Cena walking out with the victory and the title, and JBL yelling "I quit!"

That wraps up this week's issue. Check back next week, when Sam will be taking over, and then you get me again the following week. Enjoy Judgment Day if you happen to be seeing it tonight, and enjoy RAW tomorrow!
