Adam Weekly - Issue # 39

Hey, everyone! Welcome again, finally, to a new issue.

Well, it finally happened... Edge returned to RAW last week in finest fashion, coming out to the aid of Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit when the two were battling Evolution in the middle of the ring! What a great comeback that was, and especially when Edge grabbed Triple H's fallen World Heavyweight Championship belt! It had to be some moment for our hero, standing there in the ring and holding up the gold, even though he hasn't actually won it yet!

That said, I turn to the topic of today's issue. Most of us want to see Edge as the man to challenge Triple H for the title come Taboo Tuesday. However, the question is, will this actually happen?

As Edge himself stated in his interview on RAW last week, he has never gotten a shot at Triple H when he's been the title-holder. Is this fair? Hell no! One can argue that anytime the self-proclaimed "Game" has been the World Champion, that Edge was either still teaming up with Christian, in mid-card status, or even over at SmackDown (and therefore, needless to say, not a contender). Well, none of the above is the case any longer, so why *shouldn't* he get a shot? The man himself also said it best during last week's interview: whether you like him or whether you don't, EDGE is the most deserving of the three possible contenders. Chris Benoit has only held the title once and is without a doubt one of the most deserving on the RAW roster. Shawn Michaels, while great, probably shouldn't be in the equation due to having the title several times, not to mention that HBK Vs. HHH has been quite done to death.

The odds are great that, even if Edge *does* get granted the chance to face Triple H at Taboo Tuesday, he'll end up on the losing end. This would be no surprise, but it would definitely propel him up the ladder and hopefully earn him more World title shots! The current title-holder would have no choice but to defend the belt against him, because Edge would definitely give him one hell of a fight!

That's it for this week's issue. As always, if you have any opinions, or even ideas for a future topic, send them to me here! Be sure to watch RAW tomorrow night! ;-)
