Adam Weekly - Issue # 37

Hello, and welcome to the new issue of Adam Weekly!

What a night of surprises last week's RAW was, huh? Some were bad, yet some pretty good. Those of us who'd already heard the news about Edge last week knew he had suffered an injury at last Sunday's house show, however, it wasn't until Monday night when he was Chris Jericho's special guest on The Highlight Reel that it was revealed it was indeed his groin he'd hurt. Ouch! =( As it stands since, Edge will be out of action for about six weeks to heal.

Keeping up with their growing feud, Jericho issued a challenge to the Intercontinental champion for a shot at the title at Unforgiven. However, when Edge made his way to the ring to answer, he was limping on crutches. He told Y2J that he knew very well that he'd torn his groin over the weekend, and Jericho agreed, pointing out that it had happened against *him*. Jericho then slung some mud, rubbing the champ's face in the fact that at SummerSlam, his hometown crowd had booed him and went wild chanting "Y2J, Y2J." Edge snickered and said he didn't care about winning any popularity contests or being cheered by 'puppets,' because he would just keep winning the matches. Some feel that statement cemented Edge's turn as a heel, others don't see it. Personally, I think he's still a tweener.

Regardless of Edge's status as a heel or face or in between, the champion promised Jericho that he'd be the first one he goes after when he's better. What's more, the two even cemented this with a respectful handshake. But the biggest surprise of the night occurred afterward, as Edge was gingerly making his way out of the ring. Said surprise came in the form of none other than the returning Christian! Christian, of course, who'd been out of action for the last four months with a back injury, brutally attacked Chris, even going so far as to whip him with his belt. All the while, Edge stood on the ramp, watching with a seemingly shocked look on his face. Yet, Christian turned to smile toward him not once but twice. What does *this* mean? Everyone knows Edge and Christian were always supposed to be 'brothers.' Obviously, they haven't always seen eye-to-eye, however, is it significant that each of them had gotten hurt while in the ring with Jericho?

My guess is that Edge will not be on TV for the next few weeks, although I was definitely surprised to see him on RAW *last* week. It should be interesting to see if Edge was actually in on this attack with his brother. No doubt, even if the IC champ isn't around tomorrow night on RAW, Christian will most definitely be there. Do *you* think Edge was totally in the dark with this, or that he and Christian are in cahoots? If you're interested enough to leave a response, send it to me here.

That will do it for this week. Tune in to RAW tomorrow night and check back here next week for a possible new issue (there may not be much to discuss if Edge isn't around for awhile).
