Adam Weekly - Issue # 36

Hello, and welcome to this week's all new issue! This week, I'll take a look at the growing feud between Edge and Chris Jericho.

Since Edge's return on RAW, he and Jericho were friends who occasionally teamed up against members of Evolution. The two seemed to be aiming for the same goal - taking out the hated faction that is ruled and dominated by Triple H. But somewhere along the road, they had a falling out.

Everyone no doubt remembers how the "falling out" occurred - last month, Edge and Chris were part of the 20-man over the top battle royal, the winner of whom would go on to face then World Champion Chris Benoit at SummerSlam. After eliminating five guys together, Y2J decided to turn on Edge, thus eliminating him from the contest. The sparks of anger seemed to emanate from Edge as he glared up at his friend for what he'd done. And then, the following week on RAW, who ended up being the special guest on the Highlight Reel but Edge.

Most especially since that memorable night, the problems between the two one-time friends only seems to have increased - and increased. Two weeks ago, they had a pre-SummerSlam grudge match, and interesting enough, although Edge is the one rumored as soon to be turning heel, *Jericho* was the one who pulled a few heel-like stunts. In fact, the way he won the non-title match was heelish, what with his feet on the ropes as he pinned his opponent. But the most notable event took place afterward. Evolution's Batista, who was the third part of the equation at the upcoming SummerSlam match, came out and relentlessly beat up Edge in the ring. And instead of doing anything to help, Jericho looked on and then calmly walked away.

Which brings us to last week's RAW... After Y2J's match against Batista, which ended up in a disqualification for the Evolution member thanks to interference by Ric Flair, Edge's music began to blare throughout the arena. Edge ran to the ring, seemingly to help Jericho, but he had other ideas. Obviously, what had happened the week before was still fresh in his mind as he faked out, then started back up the ramp, where he watched the beating with a smirk on his face. This was obviously a vengeful response to what had happened to *him* the previous week, when Jericho did nothing to lend *him* a hand. Of course, Edge was booed as he merely stood there, but why is this considered a heel act when it was done to him before *he* did it?

This is all apparently leading up to a full-blown feud between the two that should prove to be very memorable. While Edge still isn't officially a heel, it's only inevitable that it will happen. I see Jericho as being more the heel in this thing, but the WWE wouldn't turn *him* heel, since he hasn't been a face for too long this time around. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a feud between Edge and Y2J where the both of them remain faces, but that doesn't occur too often in the WWE.

So, what's going to happen tomorrow night on RAW? Will Edge and Jericho have another clash? And I have to make mention of this, but how many of you were surprised to see Lita come to the ringside area during Edge's match with Kane? She was obviously there rooting for Edge, not for her "fiance.' What if Edge were to come out and stop the wedding tomorrow night? I doubt this will happen, but you never know. =P

That's all for this week's issue. Be sure to catch RAW tomorrow night!
